The Trifid and Lagoon Nebulas are large, bright, and complex targets in a rich field in the summer milky way. Each consists of emission, reflection, and dark nebula components. I focused on bringing out the natural colors in the stars and nebulas, including the pinkish emission components and bluish reflection components of the nebulas.
Also visible in the frame are the open cluster M21 at top center and globular cluster NGC 6544 at bottom left, two clusters with contrasting ages, star colors, and concentrations.
