The first is the Pinwheel Galaxy, and the second is a pair of gravitationally interacting galaxies known as the Whirlpool Galaxy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the space around the galaxies, several smaller companion galaxies are visible.
